Four reasons sales teams choose HelloGrowthCRM over Wati.
Wati's Growth plan covers three users and Pro covers five, with extra seats billed on top. HelloGrowthCRM is ₹899 per user per month, so your cost tracks headcount.
Wati is a messaging platform. HelloGrowthCRM adds an auto-dialer with call recording and AI call summaries, so phone follow-up lands on the same lead record as the WhatsApp thread.
You can finish the deal where you started it. HelloGrowthCRM includes a quote builder and GST invoicing, so won deals do not get re-keyed into a separate billing tool.
IndiaMART and JustDial enquiries drop into your pipeline alongside web forms. Each new lead gets scored and assigned without anyone pasting rows into a spreadsheet first.

Export your chat history from Wati first. Click your profile picture, open Settings, then Import/Export Chats, and click Start Export. Wati emails you a link to a .zip of .txt transcripts named by phone number. This works on the Growth, Pro and Business plans.
Pull your contact list through the Wati API, because Wati's help centre documents contact import but no one-click contact export. Call GET /api/ext/v3/contacts with your API key, or the legacy GET /api/v1/getcontacts, and save the response as a CSV file.
Tidy the CSV before import. Keep phone numbers in E.164 format with the +91 country code, put custom attributes into their own columns, and map Wati's contact owner and lead stage fields to HelloGrowthCRM owners and pipeline stages.
Run both tools for one full broadcast cycle. Once your team is answering from the HelloGrowthCRM inbox, repoint your web forms, IndiaMART and JustDial feeds, then move the WhatsApp number and cancel the Wati plan at renewal.
Wati earned its place. It took the WhatsApp Business API, which is genuinely awkward to work with directly, and wrapped it in something a small team can operate on a Monday morning. Shared inbox, contact attributes, broadcast scheduling, a no-code flow builder that can branch on customer replies. For a business whose growth engine is sending well-timed messages to a large list, that is exactly the right shape of product. The Pro and Business plans give unlimited broadcasts and large API allowances for a reason: people push serious volume through them. None of that changes when you move. If broadcast marketing is the thing that makes your phone ring, Wati is a reasonable place to keep spending money.
The trouble starts when the bottleneck moves. Most Indian businesses do not fail because they sent too few WhatsApp messages. They fail because a lead replied on Tuesday, nobody called back, and by Friday the customer had bought elsewhere. A messaging platform sees conversations. It does not naturally see a pipeline with stages, an owner responsible for each deal, a next action with a date on it, or a manager view of who is behind. Wati added contact owner and lead stage attributes, which helps, but attributes on a contact list are not the same thing as a sales pipeline that chases people for you. The gap shows up first in your reporting, when you can say how many messages went out but not how many deals are stuck.
Then there is the seat maths. Wati's Growth plan covers three users at ₹2,499 a month and Pro covers five at ₹7,499, with additional users billed at $24 or $69 each depending on tier. That is fine while your team is small and stable. It gets uncomfortable when you hire two telecallers and a sales manager, or when the rupee price of a dollar-denominated seat moves against you. HelloGrowthCRM charges ₹899 per user per month in India, flat, with a free forever plan for testing. There is no tier jump that suddenly triples your bill because you needed a sixth login for a new joiner. Work out your own number on a piece of paper before you decide, because at very large inbox headcounts a single flat plan can still win.
What you gain is the machinery around the conversation. A built-in auto-dialer with call recording and AI call summaries, so a rep works a call list without touching their phone keypad and a manager can read a summary instead of listening to forty minutes of audio. AI lead scoring, so the enquiries most likely to buy sit at the top of the queue. Email sequences and SMS for the customers who never reply on WhatsApp. A quote builder and GST invoicing, so a won deal turns into a compliant invoice without a detour through Tally or Excel. IndiaMART and JustDial capture, plus web forms, feeding the pipeline directly. Mobile apps on iOS and Android for field staff.
The honest way to choose is to name your own bottleneck out loud. If you cannot reach enough people, keep Wati and spend your budget on campaign volume. If you are reaching plenty of people and losing them to slow, disorganised follow-up, a sales CRM with messaging built in will do more for you than a messaging tool with light CRM bolted on. Some teams run both for a while, and that is a sensible answer too. Start on the free plan, import a Wati contact export, and put two weeks of real leads through it. If your reps stop asking where a lead stands, you have your answer. If they do not, you have lost nothing but a fortnight, and Wati is still sitting there doing the job you hired it for.
Stay on Wati if your growth comes from WhatsApp campaigns and chatbot flows, because that is what it does best. Move to HelloGrowthCRM if leads arrive fine but follow-up is the weak point. You get calling, lead scoring, quotes and GST invoicing at ₹899 per user, with a free plan to test first.
