Families are counting credits
The gap is specific, so the plan should be too
A parent here rarely says their child is generally struggling. They say the student is short a certain number of credits, often in particular standards, with a date attached. That is a far more precise brief than most tutoring businesses receive anywhere, and answering it with a general programme wastes the precision the family has already given you.
Track the gap, report against it
Holding the credits and standards a student still needs on their record lets you plan the sessions against the shortest path to closing that gap, and it gives you an outcome measure the family already accepts. It also makes the conversation at the end of the term straightforward: this is what was missing, this is what has been achieved.
