Which object the product is built around
A marketing automation platform is organised around contacts, tags and journeys. A sales CRM is organised around deals, stages and activities. Compare which of those two shapes matches the way your Gulf desk works today. If your weekly meeting is about which deals are stuck and who has not been called back, you need the second shape, and no amount of journey design substitutes for it. If your growth comes from nurturing a list, the first shape is right and this comparison does not apply.
Chat and calling in a market that lives on both
Check on your own plan whether WhatsApp is native to the contact record or arrives through a third-party integration, who stores the message history, and what happens if that integration ends. Ask the same about calling: whether a dialer is included in the plan you would buy, how outbound numbers are provisioned for the UAE, and whether call outcomes write back to the deal automatically. In a market where the closing channel is chat and the opening channel is a phone call, these are the questions that decide fit.
Metering, currency and tax records
Compare how the bill is metered, by contact, by seat or by tier, because the shape governs how cost behaves as you grow. Then compare whether a deal can hold dollars while the pipeline still reports one AED figure, and whether invoice records carrying your TRN come from the deal or from a separate accounting workflow. Verify each of these on your own quote and region rather than trusting a comparison table written for another market.
