What founders in the Emirates mean when they search for this
A startup operating out of a Dubai or Abu Dhabi free zone is usually selling into a market where the buyer is larger, slower and more formal than the seller. Enquiries arrive on WhatsApp, the evaluation happens partly in Arabic, procurement introduces vendor registration and a submission deadline, and the deal is agreed verbally long before anything is signed. The search is for a system that holds that shape without demanding a full-time administrator.
Small seller, formal buyer
This asymmetry defines Gulf startup selling. A three-person company may be quoting a bank, a government entity or a family conglomerate with an internal approval chain of its own. The pipeline has to model that chain, because the honest answer to how the deal is progressing is usually a question about which approval it is sitting behind this week.
