For an Indian buyer the honest split is about scope and currency. If you want sales, support tickets, email campaigns and delivery projects in one system, Vtiger's One editions cover all of it under a single licence, and the free One Pilot tier handles up to ten users and 3,000 records. That is a real starting point, not a demo. Zoho CRM covers sales properly and asks you to buy Desk, Campaigns and Projects separately, each priced per user. Add two of those and the Zoho bill passes Vtiger quickly. Two practical points push the other way. Zoho publishes rupee pricing and issues a GST invoice, which most Indian finance teams want, while Vtiger lists in USD, so your cost drifts with the exchange rate. And Zoho's partner network in India is far larger, so if your implementation goes sideways you will find help faster and cheaper. Neither handles IndiaMART or JustDial leads, WhatsApp messaging or telecalling without a paid third party. Those three items are where Indian SMB deals actually get worked, so price them in before you commit either way.
Vtiger wins on scope per rupee. One licence covers sales, support, marketing and projects, and the free tier is genuinely usable. Zoho CRM wins on depth, rupee billing and the size of its India partner network. Pick Vtiger if you want fewer subscriptions and can live with USD pricing. Pick Zoho CRM if sales is the priority, your process has exceptions, and you want local implementation help.
If neither Vtiger CRM nor Zoho CRM fully fits
Both platforms leave the Indian sales basics to third parties. HelloGrowthCRM includes them: two way WhatsApp, an auto-dialer with call recording, AI lead scoring, email sequences, IndiaMART and JustDial integration and GST invoicing. Pricing is flat ₹899 per user per month in India, or $12 per user monthly and $10 on annual billing globally, with a free forever plan. There are no module level or per hub upsells, so the quote you see is the bill you get. Mobile apps are included, and Growth Engine is available if you want managed RevOps help.
