How Nigerian event centres actually get booked
An event centre in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt is discovered on Instagram. The photographs of last Saturday reception do the selling, the direct message is the first contact, and the conversation moves to WhatsApp within minutes. A large share of enquiries also arrive through the planners and decorators who work the same circuit and recommend venues to their clients.
The calendar is the constraint. Weddings, launches and society receptions concentrate on Saturdays, so a centre is really selling a short list of dates that everybody wants. A CRM for banquet halls Nigeria is measured on how well it protects those dates and how quickly a direct message becomes an owned conversation.
The hold that was never paid for
A client calls, asks the centre to keep a date, and the manager agrees. Nothing is paid. Weeks later the client has booked elsewhere and the Saturday is discovered free too late to sell. Holds that expire, with a visible deposit status, are the difference between a full December and a half-empty one.
