What a talk track is
A talk track is a rehearsed way of making one point in conversation. It is short, spoken rather than written, and flexible enough to survive an interruption. Where a script maps a whole call, a talk track handles one idea and can be deployed at whatever moment that idea becomes relevant.
The value is fluency. A seller who has to construct an explanation while thinking about it will hedge, over-qualify and lose the thread when interrupted. One who has said the same thing two hundred times says it cleanly and then listens, which is where the useful part of the conversation begins.
