Frequently asked questions
How many stages should I have?▾
5-8 is the sweet spot. Fewer = coarse forecasts. More = rep fatigue.
Can I have different stages per pipeline?▾
Yes — every pipeline has its own stages.
Will renaming stages break my reports?▾
No. Reports reference stage IDs internally; rename freely.
Can deals skip stages?▾
Yes — drag stage 1 to stage 4 directly. Skipped stages count as 0 days in velocity reports.
Can I undo a stage change?▾
Drag back, or use Activity Timeline → Stage change event → Revert.
How does Closed Won differ from a regular stage?▾
Marks deal as won (probability 100, won date stamped). Special stage you can rename but not delete.
