Why contractors lose work they have already quoted
The typical small contractor does not have a lead generation problem. Enquiries arrive from referrals, local search, and repeat clients. The problem is what happens between the enquiry and the signed job. An enquiry comes in while the owner is on site, gets noted on a phone, and is remembered two days later. A site visit is booked verbally and neither side gets a reminder. A quote goes out by email and disappears into a client inbox that is checked once a week.
Then the quote sits. The client is comparing three prices, has not decided, and is waiting to hear from whoever seems most interested. Nobody follows up, because following up feels like chasing and the owner is on a roof. Three weeks later the job goes to a competitor who sent one polite message. This is the single most expensive habit in small construction businesses, and it is entirely fixable with a scheduled follow-up. The broader platform for trades is covered on the contractor CRM page.
