How to evaluate a CRM for a US mortgage brokerage
Mortgage origination is won in two places: the ten minutes after an enquiry arrives, when borrowers are contacting several lenders, and the long stretch between one closing and the next transaction, when almost nobody follows up and referral relationships either compound or decay. Your LOS handles the file. It handles neither of those.
The five criteria
One: does it force a fast first response, including automatic text-back on missed calls? Two: is there a real referral partner pipeline, not just a contact tag? Three: can it push milestone updates to borrower and agent without an originator typing them? Four: does it work on a phone between appointments? Five: can it segment the past-client database by loan type, rate and close date quickly enough to matter when rates move?
