How air conditioning work is actually sold in Egypt
The household sale is fast and price sensitive
Residential enquiries arrive as a question about a specific problem: a unit that has stopped cooling, a new flat that needs three splits, a compound villa that needs a system before summer. The decision is made quickly, often across two or three quotations, and payment is frequently discussed in instalments. The company that answers clearly, surveys promptly and quotes a number the customer can act on usually wins.
The trap is that the sale then ends. Most installation companies here hand over a working unit and never speak to that customer again until something breaks, at which point the customer calls whoever is nearest. Converting an installation into a maintenance contract is the single highest value change available to almost every business in this trade.
Commercial work runs on specifications and long decisions
Hotels, hospitals, malls, factories and office buildings buy through a different process entirely. A consultant writes a specification, several contractors are invited to offer, the technical and commercial evaluations happen separately, and the award follows months later. Contractors lose these deals through silence during the gap far more often than through price, because nobody recorded when the decision was expected or who was in the chain.
