What you'll need
- •A CSV (UTF-8) file with email or phone per row
- •Recommended: name, company, source, owner_email columns
- •File size under 200MB
- •Pro tier or above to enable auto-routing on import

Prepare your CSV
Standardize headers (email not Email Address). Save as CSV UTF-8 — matters for Indian-language text.

Open Leads → Import
Navigate to Leads, click Import top right, choose Upload CSV.

Drop CSV onto upload zone. First 50 rows previewed instantly to spot encoding issues.

Map fields
Auto-mapping handles common headers. Click +Custom field to create new without leaving wizard.

Set deduplication rules
Email + Phone (recommended), Email only, or Phone only. Phone normalization handles +91, +1, casing.

No — CSV importer is for lead/contact records only. Use the API for activities.

Only if you toggle Run automations on imported leads. Default OFF.
How do I undo a bad import?▾
Settings → Imports → Roll back. Available 30 days.
Can I schedule recurring imports?▾
Yes via API or Zapier. CSV UI is one-shot only.
Does importing count toward my usage quota?▾
Imports don't count toward API quotas. Imported leads count toward contact storage quota.
