Why Nigerian teams look for an alternative
The pattern is consistent. A growing business in Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt decides it needs a CRM, shortlists two or three, and then runs into questions that never appear on a feature comparison. Can we connect our own numbers, and who supports that? What happens to a rep visit note when the network drops between Yaba and Victoria Island? Who administers this thing, given nobody here has spare hours? And when a customer replies on WhatsApp, does the company own that conversation or does the salesperson?
Those questions are structural, not cosmetic, and they decide whether a CRM gets used or becomes a weekly reporting chore. Nigerian selling is mobile, chat-led and referral-heavy. A product that assumes a desk, a stable connection and a system administrator will be quietly abandoned regardless of how good its pipeline screens look in a demo.
