What independent consultants here mean when they search this
Usually they are already organised, just not in one place. There is a spreadsheet with the pipeline, an invoice generator with the billing, a notes app with client details, a calendar with reminders and a folder with the documents. Each was a sensible decision. Together they form a stack that a person running a business alone cannot keep synchronised, and the symptom is always the same: a quotation that was sent, never chased, and quietly lost.
The consolidation argument is not about cost
Five subscriptions is not a serious expense. The cost is cognitive. When a client calls, you should be reading one screen, not opening four applications to reconstruct what was quoted, what was delivered and what is unpaid. That reconstruction takes minutes each time and, more importantly, it is the reason follow up gets postponed. Anything that raises the effort of acting on a client will lower how often you act.
