How industrial chemicals are actually bought in Thailand
The line trial is the decision point
A Thai manufacturer in automotive, electronics, plastics or food processing does not switch a raw material on a data sheet. A sample is evaluated in the laboratory, then run on a line under production conditions, and the observations from that run decide everything. Purchasing negotiates afterwards. Suppliers who invest their effort in the commercial conversation and treat the trial as a formality lose to competitors who prepared the trial properly and documented what happened.
Three people say yes, not one
The process engineer has to be satisfied technically, the quality manager has to be comfortable with consistency and documentation, and purchasing has to be satisfied commercially. These conversations run at different speeds and rarely happen in the same room. A supplier tracking only the purchasing contact is watching the last hurdle and missing the first two.
