How chemical business is done from the UAE
One office, several markets
A chemical manufacturer, blender or trading house based in Dubai, Sharjah or Abu Dhabi is rarely selling only into the domestic market. The same commercial team handles buyers across the Gulf, the Levant, the Indian subcontinent and East Africa, with product moving through Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port. That is a strength, and it is also why the commercial picture becomes hard to hold in a spreadsheet: every enquiry has its own currency, shipping term, lead time and documentation expectation.
Relationships are personal and conversations are on messaging
Buyers here deal with people, not portals. An enquiry usually starts as a WhatsApp message, sometimes from a number nobody in the office recognises, and the negotiation continues in the same thread. If those threads stay on personal phones, the company has no record of what was promised, and no way to cover the relationship when the person handling it travels.
