How event work is booked in Egypt
Two seasons, one small team
An Egyptian event company lives through two peaks. The summer belongs to the North Coast, where weddings and brand activations follow families out of Cairo for a few intense weeks. The winter belongs to the city: hotel ballrooms, Nile venues, corporate conferences and the Ramadan iftar and sohour calendar that fills entire evenings for a month. Between them sit quiet stretches where the same team must sell the next peak. Almost every booking is decided in that quiet time, which is exactly when follow-up discipline slips.
The family decides, and it decides slowly
A wedding enquiry rarely comes from one person. The bride opens a conversation on Instagram, her mother asks the price questions, and the father settles the number. Three or four planners are compared, moodboards travel between them, and the decision arrives weeks later with no warning. Meanwhile prices move: imported flowers, printing, stage and AV hire are all quoted against costs that do not hold still. Winning here is mostly about answering fast, staying in the conversation politely, and not being the planner whose quote turned out to be stale.
