How test prep institutes actually enrol students
Test preparation is sold to people with a deadline. An aspirant has an examination on a fixed date and a gap between where they are and where they need to be, and the purchase decision is essentially an assessment of whether your programme closes that gap in the time available. That is why the strongest sales asset in test prep is not a brochure but a diagnostic. An aspirant who has sat your scholarship or mock test and seen their own result is having a completely different conversation from one who has only seen an advertisement.
Where the leads come from
Leads come from free mock and scholarship tests, from webinars and strategy sessions with faculty, from seminars in schools and colleges, from referral students already enrolled, from search and social campaigns, from result season publicity when your students perform well, and from walk-ins near examination announcements. Referrals and diagnostic participants convert best by a distance. Campaign leads convert only when contacted quickly, which is a discipline problem rather than a budget problem.
What a qualified lead looks like
A test prep lead is qualified when you know the target examination and the intended attempt date, the current stage of preparation, any previous attempt and result, the target score or rank, the mode and timing they can commit to, the distance or connectivity constraints, the fee expectation, and who is paying. Attempt date drives everything. An aspirant sitting the examination in four months and one planning for next year need entirely different programmes and entirely different urgency in follow-up.
