The follow-up problem on a contractor's desk
Construction firms do their hardest selling work before the sale: site visits, measurements, BOQs, rate analysis, a forty-line estimate that took three days. Then the estimate goes out, the team returns to live sites, and the follow-up becomes a single call a week later, if the week allows. Clients rarely announce they have chosen someone else. The job simply starts, with someone else's hoarding on the fence.
The other leak is quieter. Architects, PMCs and past clients who generate the best enquiries hear from you only when you want something. Between projects, silence. Their next drawing set goes to whichever contractor stayed visible.
