What live chat does when it lives in the CRM
A standalone chat tool produces conversations. A CRM-connected chat produces leads. The first message creates a contact and a deal, the transcript attaches to the record, and the visitor enters the same pipeline as every other enquiry, with the page they were reading recorded alongside.
The distinction matters because chat volume is deceptive. A widget can look busy and contribute nothing, simply because the conversations never became records anyone followed up. When chat writes to the pipeline, you can answer the only question that counts: how many deals did the website conversation produce?
