How enquiries die in a contracting business
A site visit is promised on the phone and scheduled in someone's head. The estimate takes four evenings of costing, goes out on WhatsApp, and is never mentioned again. The client calls two other contractors, and the one who followed up on Thursday got the job. Meanwhile a tender deadline passes unnoticed on the whiteboard, an architect who sent two referrals last year has gone quiet, and the slab payment is ten days late because nobody wanted to make the call.
None of these are construction problems. They are follow-up problems attached to a construction business, and follow-up is automatable.
