How security contracts are actually won in India
Three doors: portals, tenders and the facility management chain
Indian agencies get work through routes that behave very differently. Listing portals produce volume and noise, and the winner is whoever calls back within the hour. Government and large corporate requirements arrive as tenders with fixed dates and document checklists. Much private guarding arrives as a subcontract from an integrated facility management company, where the relationship decides who is invited to quote.
The survey decides the deal, and the rate build-up decides the margin
Nothing serious is priced without a site visit. Post positions, gate count, shift pattern, patrolling route and reliever count move the figure more than any negotiation that follows. After the rate goes in the cycle is slow, and corporate payment cycles are long enough that a branch head must care as much about collection as about closing.
