Currency and predictable cost
A subscription priced in a foreign currency converts a predictable operating cost into a variable one, and that variability is a legitimate selection criterion rather than a complaint. Ask whether local currency billing is available, whether the price is contractually fixed for the term, and what happens at renewal. Get all three in writing before signing, and factor the answer into your comparison rather than treating it as an administrative detail.
Mobile-first, genuinely
Many products describe themselves as mobile-first while remaining a desktop application with a companion app. The difference is easy to detect and impossible to fix afterwards. Give a real sales person the mobile application for a week and observe how many taps a call log takes, how it behaves on a slow connection and how much data it consumes. Then ask them whether they would rather use it than a notebook. That answer predicts your data quality for the next three years.
Connectivity resilience
Test offline behaviour deliberately rather than assuming it. Put the application into aeroplane mode, log a visit, add a note, set a next action, then reconnect and verify that everything arrived intact and in the right order. Then test a connection dropping midway through an entry. A system that quietly discards work will be abandoned by the team within a fortnight, and once that has happened no training programme recovers it.
Messaging as the sales conversation
For a great many customers here, the enquiry, the negotiation and the confirmation all happen on WhatsApp. A CRM that records calls and email while treating messaging as a separate tool is holding a minority of the relationship. Run a real conversation through each trial, including a reply arriving after the session window closes, and confirm that the whole thread attaches to a lead carrying a stage, an owner and a next action. Then ask each vendor for a written worked example bill at your expected conversation volume, since platform charges sit alongside software charges.
