Working in two languages
Bilingual operation is not a display question, it is a data question. Import a genuine sample of Arabic and English records during the trial, then search by partial name, sort a list, filter a report, send a templated message and look at a record on a phone. Mixed-script search and sorting problems are common, awkward to work around, and very expensive to discover after the team has entered six months of data. Run this test first rather than last.
VAT and the supplier invoice
Ask for a sample vendor invoice before purchase and confirm the billing entity, the currency and the tax details it carries, then show it to whoever handles your returns. If you also want the CRM to raise invoices for your own customers, confirm that separately. Electronic invoicing requirements in this market continue to develop, so establish your own current obligations with your adviser rather than assuming a vendor page is current.
The working week and the calendar
Automation, reminders, escalation and reporting all sit on a calendar, and a system assuming a different working week will annoy your team every day in small ways. Confirm that working days, holidays and business hours are configurable, ideally per team, and then test that an escalation rule and a scheduled report actually respect them. This sounds minor and is not.
Regional coverage from one base
Many teams here cover several markets. Ask how multiple currencies work on opportunities and in reporting, whether calendars can differ by territory, how telephony works for each market you call into, how message templates are managed per language, and how permissions separate teams covering different countries. Get the structure demonstrated on your own shape during the trial rather than described in principle.
Channel behaviour
In this region a customer will frequently reply to a message hours before they answer a call. That makes messaging capture a first-class requirement. Test it with a real conversation, including a reply arriving after the session window has closed, and confirm the entire thread attaches to the lead record with an owner and a next action rather than living in a separate inbox.
