What deal alerts do
Deals are rarely lost in a single dramatic moment. They are lost gradually, in the three weeks nobody called, in the quote that expired without a conversation, in the opportunity that sat at negotiation with no next step while the rep worked easier accounts. By the time a pipeline review notices, the customer has made a decision and the only honest thing left to record is a loss reason.
Deal alerts watch for those patterns continuously. When an open deal has no activity for longer than you allow, when it has no scheduled next action, when a quote is about to lapse, when a closing date passes, or when a large opportunity appears, the CRM tells the person who can do something about it. The value is entirely in the timing: the same information a week earlier is a phone call, a week later it is a post-mortem.
