Field Sales App for Car Dealerships: Doorstep Test Drives and Exchange Valuations

Not all of a dealership's selling happens on the floor. The evaluator drives to a customer's building to look at the car being exchanged. A sales executive takes a demo vehicle to an office car park for a doorstep test drive. A team spends Sunday at a mall activation or a feeder-market town two hours away collecting names on a printed form. All of that produces information the showroom needs on Monday, and most of it arrives late or not at all.

What the trip back to the showroom loses

An exchange valuation is a set of observations: odometer reading, tyre condition, panel repaints, accident history, service book, whether the registration certificate is in the seller's name. The evaluator sees all of it standing next to the car and then writes a number on a slip or sends three photos to the sales manager on WhatsApp. A week later, when the customer disputes the offer, nobody can produce what was actually seen.

Activations are worse. Sixty names go onto a paper form on Sunday, get typed into a spreadsheet on Tuesday by someone who cannot read half the handwriting, and reach a consultant on Thursday, by which time the visitor has forgotten the conversation. The same applies to sub-dealer and feeder-market coverage, where nobody can say which towns were visited this month.

The record is created where the car is

The field app opens on the customer's address, and the executive checks in with GPS at the moment they arrive. The valuation is entered against the enquiry with photographs of the odometer, tyres, body panels and the registration certificate attached to the same record, so the offer has evidence behind it. A doorstep test drive is logged with its outcome and a dated next step before the executive drives away.

At an activation, each visitor is captured on the phone as a lead with the model they asked about. Nothing depends on signal: entries made offline sync when coverage returns.

A home visit for an exchange, logged on the spot

The customer wants a valuation before committing to the booking.

  1. 1The evaluator opens the day's visit list on the app and checks in at the address.
  2. 2Odometer, tyres, panels and the registration certificate are photographed onto the enquiry record.
  3. 3The valuation range and the condition notes are saved, and the customer gets the follow-up message from the same screen.
  4. 4The consultant back at the showroom sees all of it before the customer's next call.
