Where a recruiter day actually happens
Very little of it happens at a desk. A recruiter is in a client reception at ten, running a panel at noon, in a cab at three and answering a candidate who has gone quiet at eight in the evening. The record of all that used to be written at midnight, if at all.
The call list between interviews
Fifteen minutes between panels is enough for four calls if the phone shows the last conversation and the unanswered question before dialling. Placing the call from the record means the log writes itself, which is the only reason the log is ever complete.
The drive hall
A walk-in or campus drive is a capture problem, not a sourcing problem. Entering each candidate at the registration desk with a CV photograph turns a pile of paper into a list that can be worked the same evening.
The client reception
The real brief is nearly always given verbally after the formal meeting: the salary they will actually stretch to, the profile they quietly reject, who really decides. Recorded in the lobby, it goes on the mandate. Recalled later, it becomes a rumour.
