Pick Zoho CRM if the CRM has to pay for itself quickly. For a 10 to 50 seat sales team with a normal pipeline, Zoho does the job at a fraction of the price and can be configured in weeks rather than months. In India this is not a close call for most small businesses. Zoho bills in rupees, issues GST invoices, has partners in every major city, and Standard runs about 800 rupees per user per month. Salesforce deals in India are usually priced in dollars and come with an implementation partner attached, which most businesses under 50 seats cannot justify. The same holds across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and much of Latin America. Pick Salesforce when the complexity is real rather than imagined: multiple business units, territory forecasting, regulated audit trails, revenue tied to finance systems, or hundreds of reps across countries. In the US, UK and Western Europe, Salesforce also wins when investors, auditors or enterprise buyers expect to see it. A practical test: if you cannot name three specific processes Zoho cannot model, you do not need Salesforce yet. Start on Zoho and migrate later if you outgrow it.
Zoho CRM gives most small and mid-size teams the bulk of the outcome for a fraction of the price. Salesforce earns its cost only when your process is genuinely complex or your scale is large. The deciding factor is rarely features. It is whether you have the budget and the people to run a platform. If you do not, Zoho is the safer buy today.
If neither Zoho CRM nor Salesforce fully fits
There is a third option worth a look. HelloGrowthCRM is $12 per user per month monthly, $10 annual, or 899 rupees in India, with a free forever plan. Two-way WhatsApp, an auto-dialer with call recording, AI lead scoring, email sequences and mobile apps are all in the base product. There are no per-hub or per-module upsells, so the quote you see is the bill you pay. Teams that find Zoho fiddly and Salesforce oversized often land here. Optional Growth Engine support handles the RevOps work if you would rather not.
