How chemical sales actually work in India
Enquiry volume is high and enquiry quality is not
An Indian chemical manufacturer with a marketplace listing and an exhibition stand does not lack enquiries. It lacks a way to tell which of them matter. The same product page attracts a formulator in Vapi planning a trial, a trader in Delhi assembling comparison prices, and an exporter checking whether a container can be sourced cheaply. All three send the same short message asking for the best price.
Speed of the first credible reply decides who gets the trial
Buyers enquire with several suppliers at once, usually on WhatsApp. The supplier who sends a specification, a price and a validity date the same day is the one invited to send a sample. The supplier who replies in two days is comparing against a trial already underway. This is why quotation speed, not quotation cleverness, is the metric worth fixing first.
