How SaaS teams call today, and where pipeline leaks
Most early SaaS teams are not short of signals. Trials start, demos get requested, pricing pages get visited, and somebody eventually calls some of those people. The leak is in the words some and eventually. The first call happens when the rep gets to it, the attempt lives in a personal call log, and the outcome lives in a note field if it lives anywhere.
Three leaks that compound
First, the warm trial called late: software evaluations are short, and a conversation that would have shaped the shortlist on day one is an interruption on day nine. Second, the demo no-show that nobody rescues, which is a booked meeting, the most expensive asset an SDR produces, written off without a decision. Third, the renewal call that happens after the renewal date, when the customer has already renegotiated or quietly churned.
