Choose Close if your team lives on the phone. If reps make 40 or more dials a day, the built-in dialer, recordings and SMS pay for the higher seat price by removing a separate phone system. That logic holds in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, where Close's telephony coverage is good. Choose Pipedrive if your process is email-led, deal-led, or if you want the cheapest sensible per-seat price. Pipedrive suits distributors, agencies and B2B teams across Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and its interface needs almost no training. For India, Pipedrive is the more realistic pick on cost alone. Close at $99 to $139 per seat on annual billing is a heavy line item for a Bengaluru or Delhi team, and Close's calling works best on numbers outside India. Pipedrive Lite at $14 per seat annually is affordable, though you will still need a separate WhatsApp tool and dialer, since neither product handles Indian sales channels natively. Add those two costs into your comparison before you sign anything.
Pipedrive is the better default. It costs less per seat, the pipeline view is easier for reps to adopt, and reporting is stronger for managers. Close is the better buy only when calling volume is the whole job. If your team dials constantly, the built-in dialer, recording and SMS replace a phone system and justify the extra spend. For everyone else, Pipedrive plus a cheap calling tool works out cheaper.
If neither Close nor Pipedrive fully fits
There is a middle option. HelloGrowthCRM includes a built-in auto-dialer with call recording, the way Close does, at $12 per user monthly, $10 on annual billing, or 899 rupees per user in India. There is also a free forever plan. Two-way WhatsApp, AI lead scoring, email sequences and mobile apps are in the same price, with no add-ons for campaigns, chat or web visitors. If you want the process designed as well as the software, the optional Growth Engine managed RevOps service is available.
