01

CRM executive meaning

A CRM executive is a customer relationship management executive: the person in a company who looks after customers once they have bought, booked or enrolled. The work is keeping the customer informed, answering queries, sending documents, following up on payments and renewals, and sorting out problems before they turn into complaints.

The title causes confusion because CRM is also the name of the software. A CRM executive is not someone who administers CRM software, although they use it all day. The abbreviation itself is explained in CRM full form.

Skills, and what to ask in the interview

The role needs patience and accuracy more than persuasion. Useful interview questions: tell me about an angry customer you dealt with and what happened next; a customer has not paid and says the product has a problem, what do you do; how do you keep track of fifty customers who each need something different this week; and write a WhatsApp message telling a customer their delivery is delayed by a week. The last one shows tone, clarity and honesty in four lines. Ready wording for payment follow-up is on payment reminder message.

07

Career path

The usual steps are CRM executive, senior CRM executive, CRM team leader or assistant manager, and CRM manager or head of customer relations. People also move sideways into sales, key account management and operations, because few roles teach a business as thoroughly as dealing with its customers every day.

08

Challenges we solve

Four problems a CRM executive exists to prevent

The role pays for itself when these stop happening.

  • Customers call three times for the same update because nobody tells them anything.

Send status updates before the customer asks. A reminder on each open order or booking makes that routine.Proactive updates

  • Payment follow-up is irregular, and overdue amounts build up.

Give every due payment a follow-up date and a standard message. Regular, polite reminders collect more than occasional urgent ones.Scheduled reminders

  • A complaint is passed between departments and nobody owns it.

Log each complaint against the customer with one owner and a deadline, and escalate early when it cannot be solved at the desk. One owner per complaint

  • When the CRM executive is on leave, nobody knows what was promised to whom.

Keep chats, calls, documents and promised dates on the customer record, not in a personal phone or notebook.History on the record
