A date that cannot move
Events run to fixed dates, which makes this industry unusually easy to prioritise if the date is captured properly. An enquiry for a fixed wedding date, a product launch tied to a campaign, or an offsite that must happen before a financial year closes carries urgency that no amount of stated budget can substitute for.
Venue and advance
A booked venue is the cleanest qualifying signal in event work. It means money has moved, a date is committed and the client is now shopping for execution rather than considering whether to hold an event at all. An advance paid to you is stronger still, and both deserve far more weight than a headline budget figure spoken on a first call.
Scope and guest count
Full planning mandates, decor-only work and day-of coordination are different products with different margins and different close rates. Recording scope and guest count separately at first contact stops your production team from treating a stage backdrop quote and a three hundred guest wedding as comparable opportunities.
