How engineering businesses call today, and where orders leak
A fabrication shop, machine builder or engineering services firm sells through a long chain of small conversations: the RFQ arrives, the drawing needs a clarification, the quote goes out, procurement negotiates, the PO is promised, the advance is chased, and years later the AMC comes up for renewal. Every link is a phone call, and in most firms every link is also unrecorded.
Stalls are the silent killer
Industrial deals rarely die of rejection; they die of stall. The quote waiting on a drawing revision, the technical query that procurement never routed to their engineer, the PO that is always coming next week: each sits in silence because nobody owns the chase. A firm that merely measures its stalls usually recovers a surprising number of them, and measuring stalls requires the calls to be on a record.
