How ecommerce teams call today, and where margin leaks
An online store makes more phone calls than its founders planned to. Cash on delivery orders need verifying, failed deliveries need a corrected address, abandoned checkouts respond better to a helpful call than a coupon, and the occasional bulk enquiry is worth more than a week of retail orders. Most stores work all of this from courier panels, order exports and an agent's personal phone.
The leaks are quiet and expensive
An unconfirmed COD order that returns costs the outbound shipping, the return shipping and the locked inventory, and none of that appears as a line called we did not call the customer. The abandoned cart that a call would have saved just looks like traffic that did not convert. Failed deliveries drift for a day because the export was not downloaded. The pattern is the same everywhere: the calls happen or fail to happen off any record, so nobody can manage them.
