How a jewellery store calls today, and where purchases walk away
Jewellery is a promise-heavy trade. The counter promises to call when the rate softens, when the bridal set is ready, when the new bangle designs arrive, when the repair comes back. The scheme desk promises gentle reminders. The owner promises himself he will call the wedding families this season.
Most of these promises die in a drawer of visiting cards and a notebook by the till. The customer who was not called on the dip bought elsewhere and said nothing. The ready order sat in the safe with the store's own money inside it. The lapsed scheme member drifted to the competitor's plan. Silence is expensive in a trade built on relationships.
