Where travel leads come from, and where they leak
A travel agency's demand arrives in bursts: Instagram DMs after a reel performs, WhatsApp messages from past travellers and their cousins, phone calls that spike before summer and Diwali, office walk-ins, website form fills, and trade enquiries from sub-agents who need net rates by evening.
The leak pattern is timing. Travel enquiries are hottest in the first hours, while the trip is still exciting, and coldest by the weekend, when three competitors have quoted. DMs sit unread through a busy ticketing day. The walk-in who asked about Kashmir in May leaves a first name and no phone number. Peak-season calls ring out at lunch. Each miss is not a lost contact so much as a lost moment, and moments do not come back.
